Another point to ponder is that Apple is a publicly traded company.
Statements of "product direction" by Apple employees can be construed
as "forward-looking statements" and subject to scrutiny by the SEC and
other legal authorities. Like it or not, companies play in a completely
different space than open source projects.

Railing against the Apple employees who are doing their best to make
things better is not likely to be productive, and there are SOME problems
they (you, Jordan) will never be able to solve. Relations with those who
are too young to enter into contracts is likely to remain one of those
problems.
