Notified of USB Plugin in Carbon App

I've got a device preferences applet that I've ported from OS9 to OSX by
changing it to a Carbon app. I had to ifdef out the OS9-specific USB
notification code - as that stuff isn't Carbon compatible. How do I
setup an app in OSX to have a callback for when a certain USB device is
plugged in?
