Re: Mac OS X on non-Mac G4/G5 hardware

Provided an install CD with the proper drivers (which chances are don't exist yet), you could get the open-source Darwin up and running. From there you should be able to run MacOS X binaries (inlcuding Core Graphics, etc...). MacOS X itself won't install on non-Apple hardware.

Supposedly there is an effort being made to get Darwin running on the Pegasos II (pegasosppc.com) mainboard. I have no idea who is working on that, or how much progress they've made (Anyone know?).

Suppose that the hardware in question had a G4 or G5 on-board. What is
required (in a Darwin port and hardware) to get Mac OS X to successfully
install and run?
