On my system (Darwin 7.3.2/ OS X 10.3.2), syslogd is starting with the - -s option. Is this perhaps the deprecated "secure" mode of syslogd where the daemon will not deliver syslog messages to remote hosts?

Cutting to the chase... the syslogd man page does not describe the -s argument.

It's always a good idea to file a bug on this kind of thing. The mailing list is not the way to alert Apple to problems.

You may already know this, but, if you need to be sure of what that switch means, the source is available at the darwin site.

Regards,

Justin
