Non-virtual thunk on optimized builds?

In building one of the .dylibs for the application I'm porting I'm getting this error:

undefined symbols:
non-virtual thunk [nv:-404] to RenderElementOsg::EntityRootReady()

This is one of a very few classes that use multiple inheritance, this error DOES NOT show up on a non-optimized build of the code, only on optimized (-O3 in this case)

Not really sure what the error means, can anyone provide some explanation?

gcc version 3.3 20030304 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 1640)
