Problems with mounting an SMB volume

Hi,

I'm having problems on one particular machine when trying to connect to a Windows 2003 server using the Finder. When I connect using the following url

smb://myserver

I'm getting a the SMB/CIFS Filesystem Authentication dialog after entering the correct info I'm getting the following error in the Finder

"The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "smb://myserver" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)."

The following info gets logged into the console.log

mount_smbfs: session setup phase failed: syserr = Permission denied
mount_smbfs: could not login to server MYSERVER: syserr = Permission denied
mount_smbfs: session setup phase failed: syserr = Socket is not connected
mount_smbfs: could not login to server MYSERVER: syserr = Socket is not connected

The same thing works fine on any other machine. Also I've noticed that I can mount the share when specifying the share in addition to the server e.g.
smb://myserver/myshare

Also I noticied that the problem only happens with certain servers some servers do work correctly and show the dialog after connecting to the server.

I do get the same session setup phase failed: syserr = Permission denied when I try to run from terminal

smbutil view //myserver

Even so the tool continues to show the shares on that server

Does anyone has any idea how to fix this problem.

Thanks,

Martin
