I didn't say ftp, I said ftpfs. That's the filesystem that mounts an
ftp server as a read-only volume. ftp definitely can send files: the
command line ftp client does that just fine. But the filesystem layered
on top of that doesn't support writes at this time.

Then please file an enhancement request at
<http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter>. That's the way to get new
features into our products.
