AIO updates?

Hello, all ...

I was wondering if any of the recent Panther updates address the AIO-not-working-unless-the-FD-is-a-file problem. The last I checked, AIO calls didn't work if the FD was a socket or a pipe, only a file (ESPIPE is returned if not). Perhaps 10.4 will have this, or maybe 10.3.4?
