Blocking Socket

I have a socket problem. even if using this

fcntl(sock,F_SETFD,O_NONBLOCK);

The socket blocks on this call

ret = ::read(fd, &data[ctr], 1 );

Could someone point be if i have done something wrong ?

[demime 0.98b removed an attachment of type application/pkcs7-signature which had a name of smime.p7s]
