They follow a standard RISC convention, however the implementation is specific to PowerPC.


where does it say what RT and RA stands for?

They will stand for the general purpose registers which contain the arguments you specify.


The assembler pdf contains information about the format that is required by Apple's `as`.

It would not be considered an introduction to the PowerPC architecture or assembler programming.
