On doing a /sbin/ifconfig -a the details are

media : 100 baseTX <full-duplex> (100baseTX<half duplex>) status active.
Does that mean that the PC is configured in full duplex mode?
How can I confirm this?

Not sure about the PC, but the Mac is definitely in half-duplex mode :) The best would be to configure your switch to auto-negotiate and the Mac as well. Then the Mac will automatically go to full duplex.

I've had some problems in the past as well with forcing Mac OS X to switch to full duplex mode, even when connected to a port that was configured as full duplex. I seem to remember reading that this was fixed in Mac OS X 10.3.3 though.
