Adaptec is going to release the source code for SCSI driver soon
for anyone to download and develop a driver for Mac OS X Tiger.
What is the interest level of this community to work on such
development?
Source code is helpful. Documentation is better. I'm sure there
are a lot of folks who would like to see an OpenSource Adaptec
driver for OS X.
May I point out that if Adaptec does do this, it would be best if
development began by porting the code to the supported
IOSCSIParallelFamily instead of using the unsupported and
deprecated IOSCSIFamily.
I have done such conversion before and I may have a few cycles I
could throw at such a thing.
It would be nice if it was hosted on something like source forge.
Why not as an opendarwin project? :-D
Also, has anyone gotten around the limitation of not being able to
throw raw scsi commands to non-burner optical drives? Using
cdparanoia or cdrdao on a non-burner would be very nice, and is a
stupid artificial limitation, imho. <ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/
