Success!

Thanks for the tip Shawn!  I inserted

<key>com.apple.kpi.bsd</key>
        <string>8.0.0</string>

in the driver and it loads!  Unfortunately, it appears to only kind of work.  I got an IP address, but when I turned off the built in Airport, I couldn't ping anything, or browse the web.

I guess I need to do a bit more testing.
