Hi
I'm using Mac OS X 10.3.2 on a PowerBook. The OS releases the
IOPCCard and IOCardBusDevice from the system during a sleep. Is this
the expected behaviour?????

This is not the expect behavior. I would try catching the terminate with a breakpoint in your message() method and try looking at the backtrace to see how you got there. Whatever started the terminate may be on a different thread so you have to hunt around for it or set more breakpoints to catch it.

also 10.3.2 seems like a strange release to be testing on? are you only seeing this with 10.3.2 or do you also see this with more current releases like 10.3.9 and 10.4.1?

The system logs are ;
kernel: IOPCCard: shutting down socket 0.
kernel: IOPCCard: calling terminate on socket 0 function 0 nub 0xc83000.
IOCardBusDevice: releasing socket 0 function 0 from card services.

I've devices connected to the card which gets ejected when the system
sleeps. I need to prevent this !!!!!!

I get the following 2 messages in my message() function when i 'Power
OFF' the card from menu.
CS_EVENT_EJECTION_REQUEST
CS_EVENT_CARD_REMOVAL

But when the system sleeps i only get the second message and there i
can't do anything more than a clean up work.

Any ideas? Has anyone used a PCCard with devices attached to it like a
cardbus firewire device with harddisks attached? If yes what is the
behaviour like during a sleep n wake up?

Thanks
