| _Assert is only exported via com.apple.kpi.libkern v8.0 (and later). The "compatibility" libs refers to the com.apple.kernel.* identifiers (< v8.0) that represent our binary compatibility library for pre-Tiger kexts. Unfortunately, _Assert is not provided in these libraries, so you'll either need to move to the KPI interfaces, or remove your dependence on _Assert.
