Re: Network kernel stack TODOLIST

Apple typically does not publish intended future feature directions, so it's pretty much up to you to pick a project.

That said, there are things that Darwin does not support that people on this list would very much like, so I am sure one of them can point you in a direction.

If you want to get your code into a release, you will need to jump through the legal hoops before telling an Apple person about your code; this includes licensing it under a licence Apple can live with, clearing title with your employer, if needed, etc..

Maybe if you contacted DTS you could get someone to post an official hoop list?

I've personally integrated fix code that has accompanied bug reports, but if you were to do something larger, which in the networking area would be (to use list examples) something like come up with KPI to register and deregister protocol families from KEXTs, or write a TUN driver KEXT (plus add the KPI to support it) using the cloning BSD device driver sample code on <http://developer.apple.com>, it would be a significant enough work that it would need legal releases and internal review. Even then it may not be released through Apple, depending on upper level decisions.

So your best bet is to pick a couple of projects, size them, and contact DTS to see what it would take.
