Consolidating multiple Apple System Logs

I recently discovered Apple System Log, and saw on related forums its alive and well! People are using an app of mine on multiple machines at one site, and I'd like to log certain events using ASL during the day, then collect and analyze them in the evening.

It would be great if I could find a way to do this from one machine - that is, I could pull the events from each machine. Alternately, I could log all events on a single machine and query that single log.

Now, what's really interesting is that the man page for syslog mentions a "r" flag to write a message to a remote host. However, reading asl(3), there does not appear any way to send these messages to a remote machine.

Any suggestions?

David
