RE: Install issues

I have a Toshiba Satellite and I burned the iso off of both apple's and
opendarwin.org's site and neither of them will boot in any computer I have. I
can read the file system on them just fine, just not boot. Any clues why the
iso's won't boot?

According to experience with my Toshiba Satellite (a Sat Pro 420-CDT, which is probably
a ton older than yours), they don't boot from CD no matter what you do to them. I always end up using a boot floppy (included on most linux-style ISO's under an image directory - a utility such as rawrite is usually included elsewhere on the ISO to get the image file on your floppy).

Technically I have a copy of Gentoo that I can get to a sort of setup state to
where I could probably mount the cd with it to install stuff from if I do a
chroot. But that seems like a rather lame way of going about all this.

thanks.

But my main question that relates to installation is What are the system requirements for version 1.4.1 - I found an ISO, but I don't know if I should spend the time downloading it on not with my 24MB of RAM and 100MHz processor on the Sat Pro. Of course, I could always use 6 on my desktop, but that's not the point right now . . .
