console keyboard mapping : does keycap is allways the solution ?

Hi all,

Some month ago I've posted on this topics. I'm currently trying to configure all my x86 based machines under darwin with text console only (No X).

As a French user, I would like to get a French Keyboard mapping. Most of my machines are install with Natural Microsoft PS2 Keyboard.

I've took a look on mailing list archive about this topics and found nothing usefull except something about the used of keycap file (BSD implementation ?) inside macOS/X10.1. I remember reading something about the fact that 10.2 change the way how keyboard were mapped compare to 10.1. I'm right ?

So my questions are :
- Does answers for this topics have allready been posted somewhere ? Thanks for links if you have those ?
- Does it means, it's a known problem but no issue at this time ?
- Does it means too, someone working on driver (it could be me) could solve the problem ? if it's one ?
- Does someone allready work on this (I could help him or her ?)
- Could someone please could give me an answer ?

Thanks in advance for your answers !

Best resgards
