Re: Darwin without SSE2?

Darwin runs just fine on a Pentium 4, Athlon XP, Pentium III or almost anything in x86 land (not the 286 and earlier stuff but it sort of goes without saying I guess) without any 64-bit support, so yes, you might be a bit confused. :)

Darwin will run on that? I thought it had to be a 64-bit processor..?

maybe I'm confused then..

From what I understand, Darwin 8 requires SSE and SSE2-capable

processors. Now, I'm planning on testing Darwin on my (home) server,
which is a Pentium 1@166MHz, 64MB RAM, 20gb hard drive. I know it
doesn't sound like much, but I'm only serving FTP and some basic HTML,
so it's not really much of a load. My question is...what is the latest
version of Darwin that doesn't need SSE without having to recompile a
large chunk of the system? 7?
