OK.

Let's try to get the final word on this.

Doing 'sudo passwd root' will enable root instead of having to use NetInfo Manager.

However.... will setting an '*' before a password phrase disable the root account?

Nope.

Just tried it.

Does not work.

Is there any other command line way to "disable" the root account as easily as it was to enable it?
