Re: Newbie Question? Is there a root in Mac OSX (Darwin)?

These responses referencing a technique of enabling and disabling the
root account from command line, while useful and kinda neat, do not take
the original intent to the "Newbie" question! And I quote:

>This may be a stupid question, but is there a 'root' in Mac OS X, or perhaps
>I installed Mac OS X incorrectly? I installed with a user identity but I

My answer was geared toward a newbie MacOS X user, not a command line
savvy Darwin user. Since OS X is initially installed with the root
account disabled, what I posted was Apple's approved technique to enable
the account.
