I am trying to build the sqlite library and keep getting link errors when
building an executable. Specifically :

cc -g -O2 -DOS_UNIX=1 -DOS_WIN=0 -DHAVE_USLEEP=1 -I. -I../sqlite/src -DHAVE_READLINE=1 -I/usr/local/include/readline -o sqlite ../sqlite/src/shell.c \
libsqlite.a -lgdbm -lm -undefined warning -lreadline
/usr/bin/ld: warning undefined symbols:
__ashldi3

I've noticed that this symbol is present in most static libraries. What is
it and what do I need to link in the get the symbol defined so that linking
goes without problems?
