Is it just me, or is there now a problem with pserver access?

During the entire time that WebCVS has been down, I've been happily
getting along with pserver access (both command line and via WinCVS
[yes, unfortunately, I'm working via a Win NT system]). However, now I
find I can access WinCVS (especially via the new URL), but, without
changing anything with regard to my pserver access, I find I cannot
access CVS via pserver, at this time.
The error I get is:
no such user <myuser> in CVSROOT/passwd
cvs login: authorization failed: server anoncvs.opensource.apple.com
rejected access to /cvs/Darwin for user <myuser>

This is with the CVSROOT I've been using all along:
:pserver:<myuser>@anoncvs.opensource.apple.com:/cvs/Darwin

Even if I change the CVSROOT (eliminating the "/Darwin" or appending
another "/Darwin"---since I notice that the /Darwin directory is now a
union of the root directory and the old contents of the /Darwin
directory), there is no change in the error. (It used to be that I
would get a different access error if I tried to eliminate the trailing
"Darwin" directory.)

What is wrong? Is there a misconfiguration of the CVS server? Am I
missing something that, for whatever reason, just didn't matter before?

Please help. There are some things that just work better /not/
going through the WebCVS.
