Re: Running pppd in the usual Unix way

PPP support moved to kernel space for some odd reason. This has caused no end of problems for G4 Dual Processor machines, who got kernel panics when they tried to connect (which has since been fixed, AFAIK).

pppd isn't there, and I haven't found any documentation anywhere ever of how to get Darwin talking over PPP, either in 1.2 or 1.3.

Hi

We have a Solaris box here which runs pppd under script control, and we'd like to do the same on our Mac OS X box.

I note that /etc/ppp doesn't exist (although I seem to recall it did in the public beta) and I can't find anywhere to download a Mac OS X source of it to compile (the Darwin one wouldn't compile for me).

Does anyone have any pointers here please?
