Questions about UFS, automounting, and NetInfo

Is there anyway to install Darwin onto UFS? I can't boot from UFS, I don't
think, because OF doesn't support it (or does it?). What do I need to put
on an HFS+ partition? Just /System? Any tips?

I ask because it sounds like it's necessary to have a UFS partition to
build xnu. I may just mount /src (or something) as UFS.

Also, what's with the automounter? It doesn't seem to be automounting my
other HFS+ partition, which IIRC was automounted by 1.2 without trouble. I
noticed that the Disks startup bundle refers to autodiskmount or some such
thing that doesn't seem to exist... and automount seems to only deal with
NFS. Am I missing something? Do I need to add something to /mounts in
NetInfo?

Speaking of NetInfo, is there documentation as to the what goes where and
with what properties?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel
