RE: Questions about UFS, automounting, and NetInfo

I went through this a while back and came to this rather disappointing
scenario for dual booting Darwin.
As per the support desk the recommended installation procedure is as
follows:
1. Create 4 partitions for storage, OSX, 9.1 and Darwin.
2. Install OSX first in the first partition which is not to exceed 8
gig. They stressed this was important.
3. Install 9.1 in the second partition.
4. Download the 9.2.1 startup disk from asu.info.apple.com and install
into 9.1. This prevents booting up in 9.1 w/out seeing the other OS.
All partitions must be extended. Unix File System partitions are not
recognized by 9.1, and the software installer for Darwin will only run
in 9.1. Pretty disappointing that it takes a legacy installer to load
Darwin.
Have not tried to make the kernel and install from the partition.
