I do not know the details of how it is done, but under os9.1 fwb hard disk toolkit, will let you resize (bigger or smaller) partitions while leaving your data intact, you must defragment the disk and be booted from a seperate drive. works fine, but takes a while.

Huh. I always thought, the usable size of a partition is written down
when formatting that partition. So, if you increase the size of an
partition, you can't use the additional space until you reformat that
partition.

Am I wrong or how would you make a partition smaller / bigger?
