According to http://www.usc.edu/isd/doc/os/mac/consult/oserrors.html,
-39 is 'eofErr: eof, no additional data in format'. I find that
Mozilla, iCab, Netscape, and IE fail on this test, while OmniWeb
works. New code, no doubt.

Yes, this is a bit off-topic, now that I've realized it's probably
just a matter of old code in the apps :-).
