Thanks for your input, Denis. Regardless of whether Mozilla or
Acroread *wants* the volume name in the URL, they can't have it. The
path /home/janssen/foo.html is a valid one on the Mac OS X platform;
the tools built for that platform should be able to handle it.

This is of interest because of various local links that work by using
the file: URL.
