... um, the subject was _supposed_ to be "fink" ... the other characters got in there without me realizing it (trackball button on my tangerine iBook sometimes sticks without me knowing it, sometimes causing all sorts of grief as I wonder why things act weird until I figure it out <g>) ...

... speaking of fink, i've not been able to update fink on my Pismo ... I do "fink selfupdate" and it goes and gets it's new self via curl, then when it tries to untar it's new self, it displays "tar -xvf" on it's own line, nothing after that ... and it will just sit there, and sit there. Does anyone know how to get around this, short of erasing all traces of the old fink and reinstalling?
