1.56 won't exist on the server any more. You should update your package
descriptions. Both stabel and unstable trees have 1.58 now.

I get "too many users" from this site, which is quite possible. On
ftp.fr.xemacs.org, I have no problems.

Never had problems with XEmacs from Fink (at version 21.5.4 now). But
AFAIK you can just grab the sources from xemacs.org; versions later than
21.5b3 should compile without problem. If you want to keep a tidy
system, go with Fink, though.
