/System/Library/Filesystems/hfs.fs/hfs.util -J /

That would work quite nicely under Mac OS X, unfortunately, afaik, "diskutil" isn't distributed with Darwin! I just installed OpenDarwin 6.6.2 last Friday, and it certainly isn't in there.
