Re: Stuck in ucsp_client_setup ?

That's part of the security stack. You need to sample "securityd" typically, which may in turn be blocked on DirectoryServices or lookupd or something else, so keep following the chain. If you think there's a kernel problem, you might also try using a kernel debug kit (which has a symbol-rich kernel) to remotely attach and do a "showallstacks". If it's an entirely user-space deadlock, that won't be very helpful, though.

I've got a Mac OS X client 10.4.5 system (or Darwin 8.5.0 if you prefer) that has started exhibiting some interesting behavior.

After a bit of uptime, (as long as 35 days, as few as 5 days), anything with requires authentication gets 'stuck'. (No new ssh connections, no new imap connections, sudo/su get stuck).

Needless to say, this makes it a little hard to figure out and work around as the machine is co-located a ways away from me.

That a few other processes will get stuck if I have an existing login on the machine, and I managed to get a sample of 'mutt':

Anyone else see anything like this? Any hints on where to look? (anyone know which project ucsp_client_setup belongs to?)

Thanks!
