Re: clip region for a donut shape

I'm trying your suggestion with the canvas floating over something.

I have a canvas with my background. I have another canvas with my donut (which is currently just semi transparent layer with part of it erased as the peephole) that I've set to the same position as my canvas with the background.

The result I'm getting is that sometimes I see just the background, and sometimes I see just the donut in sort of a random fashion. Do I need to somehow set one element to be behind the other?

It depends if you are trying to show another element with the peephole, or
if you are trying to show something in the canvas underneath the hole.

If the canvas is floating over other html elements, just erase the center,
by creating a path and filling it with alpha.

Otherwise, try just rendering the bits you need, never rendering the center.

Thanks,
jl
