Passing a string from JavaScript to a Widget Plugin


Hi,

I'm playing around with the Fortune example widget. I'm trying to modify the SimplePlugin code to let the getFortune method take a parameter that is passed to it from the widget's JavaScript portion. I've added the parameter, but that breaks the functionality. I added some C code to open a file and print the parameter to the file but this doesn't work either.

At first I suspected it was because AllowFullAccess was not set in the Info.plist, but I've set that to true with no change.

What should I do to enable me to be able to pass a string parameter from JavaScript to the plugin? And why can't I do a simple fopen & fprintf from my plugin?
