Principal Class in Native Plugin?

The example "Fortune" plugin doesn't appear to set the principal class for the native widgetplugin, and it doesn't appear to work unless this is set.

Is this a bug in the sample code? Or is there some other problem that is masked by setting NSPrincipalClass (i.e., should it work with this unset and I've got different problem?)
