I'm going to try using XMLHttpRequest to read the file I need, seeing as
there have been no responses to my two problems this week. Even if it
doesn't fix my problems it seems it's the topic that gets the most replies
on here! ;)
I'm clutching at straws, mind you.

Hi Blake,
I think the path of least resistance would be to just keep an up-to-date
string in your JavaScript code that you sent across the wire (you might
want to display the version on the back anyway). Otherwise you could use
XMLHttpRequest to read the plist, but that's a bit more work.

I am not quite clear on just what the intended differences between:

current version of my widget, to be updated with each new release. Is
it possible for me to read these in so that I can hit my website behind
the scenes with an XMLHttpRequest and determine if the user has the
latest version, when they hit an "Update?" button? How would I get the
values from the plist?
Thanks.
