Not that I know of, but it would be cool indeed to have some control
over the transition effect. In fact, why stop at just horizontal and
vertical flipping? Why not provide developers with a choice of
transition. That would be really nifty.

I realise that it would be confusing and off-putting to a user to have
widget that flip a different way, but there might be a good use for
it. For
instance when a widget is long and short it would seem more natural
to flip
about the horizontal. Sometimes I think some widgets are about to
jump out
and whack me in the mouth on its way past. :)
