Re: not a valid widget



All the widgets from apple.com? Has she tried downloading widgets from another source. Say, dashboardwidgets.com?

Have you tried asking the user to disable dashboardadvisoryd? To disable it, do this at the command line:

sudo launchctl stop com.apple.dashboard.advisory.fetch
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.dashboard.advisory.fetch.plist
