Depending on what you're trying to pull off, I'd use preferences. 

Um, that won't do shit when I am trying to get the cookie sent to a
remote server that requires it, now will it?

You need to dial back that attitude if you expect help. It's not our fault you didn't bother to explain your situation in you post.
