They tried that with the Newton. (Star something or other) It bombed for developers and Apple to just give a few developers their tier one licensing. Users will sort out what works and what doesn't just like they do for all the other platforms out there.


If the iPhone is running OS X lite, then they need to let us develop software for it.

I already have customers asking me when my software is going to be ready for the iPhone. More than any of my customers, I want to port my software to the iPhone so I can ditch my ipod, cellphone, and camera, and Palm.
