Apple preannounced a product, not an open platform. Supposition on
external development (because of terminology used in marketing) does
not cross over with actual intent, as has been noted in multiple
forums (articles, mailing lists, et. all.) Using channels already
closed for discussion on a topic does not open the topic any further
nor aid in getting proper assistance.

Apple preannounced the iPhone. Why not a pre-announce a development

I ramp up on widget development in hopes there is some overlap with
iPhone. I'm not interested in widget development for desktops, but
I am very interested in it for the iPhone because my market is pdas/
smartphones and customers are already inquiring.
This forum seems like the closest thing to an ear at Apple that I
could find. If someone could put me in contact with the proper
iPhone manager, then I'll be very glad to take this offline.

All-
At this time, there is no information available regarding widget
development on iPhone. Let's get back to discussing widget
development and discontinue speculative conversations about iPhone.
Thanks for your cooperation!
