cdr master is read/write

When I create a cdr master using hdiutil or Disk Utility, the result is a read/write image.

Everything else about it is perfect, except that it's editable. I want a "master" image, which means non-editable.

I've tried converting first to read-only dmg and then from there to the final cdr master, but the resulting image is still read/write.

What can I do?
