Re: cdr master is read/write

Are you trying this on Leopard? Did it behave differently in Tiger? Please file a bug so we can determine if this behavior is expected or not.

It's a hybrid mac/win/linx disc... hfs+/iso+joliet/iso.

I sort of resolved this problem in a suitable enough manner for now. I just put in the script that builds it to chmod it to read- only. It works fine this way, but I'd really like to know how to get a proper read-only cdr master.

Note that if you open up Disk Utility and just make a brand new cdr master image from a folder, it will be read/write. The point being that the contents don't seem to matter.

Thanks.

What is the cdr master an image of? I'm assuming some CD/DVD, what kind of content is on the disc, do know what filesystem is on the disc.

When I create a cdr master using hdiutil or Disk Utility, the result is a read/write image.
Everything else about it is perfect, except that it's editable. I want a "master" image, which means non-editable.
I've tried converting first to read-only dmg and then from there to the final cdr master, but the resulting image is still read/ write.
What can I do?
