10.5.1!? There was a bug in early Leopard builds that has since been addressed regarding the erasure of a DVD+RW in certain situations.

Please upgrade to 10.5.8.

1.) You mentioned you are on Leopard, what version of Leopard are you using (10.5.#)? Can you also please confirm again that you aren't seeing this on SnowLeopard?
