quality

it's intersting to see how many flames I've sparked with my question
about quality. First, thanks everyone for jumping in - I appreciate the
comments - I better understand the placement of the G4/733 w/ dvd burner
and DSP in the market. It just sucks that I've already spent all this
money and should have bought a hardware dvd encoder. I hate steve jobs
sometimes - he always makes promises that he either a) doesn't deliver
on b) delivers much less than what he says. He is, however, a wonderful
liar. Certainly a presidential candidate.

At any rate - I had a few other questions if you wouldn't mind:

1. does DSP have some sort of a control slider that allows you to trade
quality for length of recording? ie: the lower the quality, the longer
the dvd can be.
2. What's the maximum dvd length you can make in DSP? (in minutes)
3. Of course I own iDVD - obviously it came with my 733. I heard a
rumor that you could only record up to a maximum of 1 hour on a dvd with
this - is this true? if so - why would they do this?
4. And last - Apple would have us all believe that only the apple branded
dvd-r's will work in their drive and this is obviously not true - any
reccomendations on where I can find some good/cheap dvd-r's that are
third party and will work in apple's drive?

thanks again
