Newbie questions

Hi

Sorry for the total newbie questions.

1) How do I know if I have field dominance problems? How does it look in
video playback?

2) Are there any MPEG1 encoders that would be AltiVec enhanced? It is weird
that the computer spends one fifth the time to encode MPEG2 comapred to
encoding a MPEG1 stream. I am using Cleaner 5 with built-in MPEG1 encoder
and DVD Studio Pro with its MPEG2 encoder.

3) How can one add a MPEG1 stream to a DVD? DSP doesn't accept anything but
720x576 MPEG2 video.

4) When creating slideshows, how can I set that background music would be
played (and looped) during the entire slideshow? It seems that I am only
able to set a separate audio for each individual frame...

5) Did any of you folks tried to create a SuperVCD? It is MPEG2 encoded
video (480x480 NTSC or 480x476 PAL) VBR up to 2.6 Mbit/s but it is on a
regular CD-R media. For short clips it could replace wasting a costly DVD-R.
I assume the DSP MPEG2 encoder encodes only at 720x576 and I have to use
Cleaner5 to encode at lower resolutions.

Regards,
Boris
