It has nothing to do with General or Authoring media. There are *no* DVD9
burners at this time.

I think you're referring to the glass master that's used to make the
stamper to press the DVDs.
On a DVD9, they have to make two glass masters, one for each of the two
stampers.
Anyhow, I know that the average cost of a stamper in the US is around $ 600.

You'd be better off asking quotes for a larger quantity (500 DVDs or +) as
sometimes the larger the quantity, the cheaper they charge you for the
glass-mastering and stamper, and sometimes would even not charge you for
the stampers (I guess the break point for this is close to 1000 DVDs)

In DVD9 the player reads both layers withough flipping the disc.

It's waaay too much! At that price, you'll end up paying $ 2500 for 100 DVDs.
