I have noticed that research groups in the DOD tend to lean much more heavily towards Macs than the general DOD population. DARPA, their contractors and researchers are a good example of this.


As a security researcher for the DOD and IC communities I have always been frustrated by their statements that computer security is critical to them, but then they run their operations on the most vulnerable platform available, using the most vulnerable applications on that platform, and no one even collects audit trails.

Sigh...
